FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you take insurance

I am primarily an out-of-network provider, but I reserve some spots for clients using insurance. I am in-network with Aetna and Optum (UHC, Oxford, Oscar) in New York and Florida. I am not in-network with any insurances in Vermont.

I do not accept insurance for those seeking EMDR.

How can I use out-of-network benefits?

You can use out-of-network benefits if they are offered by your insurance provider. You will be responsible for paying for each session in full at the time of your appointment. I will provide a super bill each month that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

I recommend that you contact your insurance provider to see if you have out-of-network mental health benefits. If you do, they typically will reimburse you for 60-80% of the cost of each session once you have met your deductible.

What if I am unable to afford your fee? Do you offer a sliding scale fee?

I offer a sliding scale fee on a limited, case-by-case basis.

Do you see clients in-person or virtually?

Both. I see clients at my office in Chelsea near Penn Station and virtually via a HIPAA-compliant video platform.

Can we work together if I don't live in New York, Florida, or Vermont?

Yes, we can still work together through life coaching. Please note that this service is not reimbursable by insurance and you will be responsible for paying for each session in full at the time of appointment.

How often will we meet?

We will meet weekly as this is the best practice for therapeutic progress and success. I offer biweekly sessions on a case-by-case basis, typically only after you have been in treatment for over one year.

Can you prescribe medication?

I am unable to prescribe medication, but I can help you find a medication prescriber as there are many with whom I have a close working relationship. I will be happy to collaborate with your provider to help monitor and coordinate your care.
